ABOUT THE FUND

YOUTH CLIMATE ACTION FUND

The Belmopan Youth Climate Action Fund (BYCAF) is an initiative of Bloomberg Philanthropies and the Belmopan City Council that channels micro-grants directly to young innovators who want to tackle climate change at the neighbourhood level. Each award is worth up to BZD 10,000, and 17 grants will be distributed city-wide in 2025.

Projects must be designed and led by people 15 to 24 years old and must take place inside Belmopan.

The programme’s goal is simple: equip youth with resources, mentorship, and a public platform so that creative, community-based solutions can take root and inspire others across Belize.
